Aviation Innovation Renewable Energy

The Energy Technology research group of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology is challenging its students and staff by developing a radio controlled model aircraft, that will participate in contests in the high-speed class in the future.
Our team of students from Eindhoven University of Technology, is developing model aircraft using the latest technology to eventually beat the Guinness World speed record of high speed model aircraft. Most of all, the team contributes to the development of sustainable aviation using renewable energy propulsion. Various types of remote propulsion types, from 3D printed electric ducted fan to jet turbine, are being tested by engineering students from our team in our TU/e testing facility to scientifically analyze specifications and come up with new innovations for the future.

Team AIR/e is constantly growing. We are looking for new talent and enthusiastic students with new innovative ideas to develop the ultimate model aircraft and contribute to sustainable aviation. Bachelor Final and Graduation Projects on construction and aerodynamics, control and stabilization, energy conversion and sustainability, or electrical systems: all improved components finally contribute to an even faster aircraft. You can also come up with your own project assignment suggestions. At the moment, our team is supported by TU/e professors (Mechanical Engineering research group) David Smeulders (ET), Rick the Lange (ET), Jacques Dam (ET), Jeroen van Ooijen (PF), Hans Kuerten (PF),  Duarte Antunes (CST) and Joris Remmers (MM) among others who supervise our student projects assignments together with team members as well.

So, are you looking for an interesting Bachelor Final Project, Internship or Graduation Project, or TU/e Honors project? Are you bursting with innovative ideas and are you not afraid to roll up your sleeves for some creative or practical work at times?  This is your chance! Join our team, do not hesitate and contact one of us and come and admire our new AIR/e-craft soon!
